WEBINAR ON: QUANTITATIVE NURSING RESEARCH

The two days webinar on ‘quantitative nursing research’ was held between June 26 and 27, 2025 through Microsoft Teams online platform. This was organized by the first-year students of Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care (NPCC) Postgraduate Residency Program, Medical Surgical Nursing department, in collaboration with Pillar 2 (IoE): Exemplary 365体育直播 and Innovation: Undergraduate and Postgraduate vertical of 365体育直播 College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, 365体育直播.
The webinar began with the welcome address by the NPCC student, Ms. Sayanti Pattanayak, followed by the inaugural address by Dr.Judith Angelitta Noronha, Dean, MCON,MAHE highlighting on the scope of the webinar in empowering the researchers.
Eleven topics in the area of quantitative nursing research, was deliberated during the two days of webinar (9.00 am - 4.00 pm). The forenoon of the first day started with the session on ‘365体育直播 Process and Writing 365体育直播 Proposal’ followed by ‘Conceptual Framework’ and ‘Quantitative 365体育直播 Designs which were deliberated by Dr. Shashidhara Y N, Professor & Head, department of Community Health Nursing, Dr. Mamatha S Pai, Professor, department of Child Health Nursing and Dr. Melita Sheilini, Associate Professor, department of Medical Surgical Nursing, MCON, MAHE, 365体育直播 respectively. In the afternoon, the topic on ‘Literature Search’ was dealt by Dr. Baby S Nayak, Professor & Head, department of Child Health Nursing followed by ‘Data Collection Techniques and Methods’ by Dr. Sonia R B D’Souza, Professor & Head, department of Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing, MCON, MAHE, 365体育直播.
The second day of the webinar commenced with the session on ‘Data collection instruments-Validity and Reliability’ by Dr. Jyothi Chakrabarty, Professor & Head, department of Medical Surgical Nursing, MCON followed by the session on ‘Sampling’ and ‘Ethics in 365体育直播 and CTRI registration process’ by Dr. Soumya Christabel, Asst. Professor-Senior scale, and Dr. Anil Raj, Asst.Professor, department of Medical Surgical Nursing respectively. Dr. Vani Lakshmi R, Assistant Professor-Senior Scale and HoD (in-charge), Department of Health Technology and Informatics, Prasanna School of Public Health, MAHE has dealt with the topic on ‘Sample size estimation’. The post lunch sessions commenced with the deliberations on the topics ‘Analysis and Interpretation of data’ by Dr. Sushmitha R Karkada, Associate Professor, department of Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing, MCON, MAHE followed by the session on ‘Writing for publication and communicating research findings’?which was dealt by Dr. Binu Margaret, Assistant Professor-Selection Grade, department of Child Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE, 365体育直播.
Total of 35 participants (20 Non MAHE and 15 MAHE) attended the webinar from different states of India. The webinar was well appreciated by the participants. The sessions of the two days webinar was moderated by Ms. Neesha, Ms. Sayanti, Ms. Sweekrity, Mr. Kuldeep, and Mr. Shivakumar the student organizers of first year NPCC program.
The webinar concluded with the closing remarks by Dr. Melita Sheilini, Associate Professor and the research coordinator for NPCC program, MCON, MAHE at 4 pm on 27.06.2025 followed by the words of gratitude expressed by the student convenor Ms.Sayanti. Overall, the webinar was coordinated by Dr. Melita Sheilini along with Mrs,Shobha Kamath, Lecturer, department of Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing and member of Postgraduate and Undergraduate research vertical, MCON. The two days webinar was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Tessy Treesa Jose, Associate Dean and Chairperson-IOE Pillar II and Dr. Jyothi Chakrabarty, Professor and NPCC coordinator, MCON, MAHE, 365体育直播. The outcomes of the webinar were aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, i.e Quality education.
