The Division of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics organised?Nutrition Update 2025?on September 3rd, 2025 at Sharada Hall,MCHP as part of Nutrition Week. The program focused on the nutritional needs of critically ill patients and the growing challenge of obesity.
Chief Guest?Dr. G. Arun Maiya?inaugurated the event, stressing the importance of clinical nutrition. As part of?Rashtriya Poshan Maha 2025, creative boards highlighted the harmful effects of excess oil, sugar, and salt. A unique highlight of the day was the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, symbolising love and respect for both mothers and Mother Earth. Adding to this, the innovative concept of Men Streaming encouraged male attendees to actively participate in healthy eating and nutrition advocacy, with all men sowing seeds as a pledge toward better health practices.
The scientific sessions featured?Dr. Vishal Shanbhag?on?Collaborative Nutrition Care in ICUs?and?Dr. Esther Sathyaraj?on?Optimising Nutrition in Critical Care: Evidence and Practice. Discussions covered enteral and parenteral nutrition, ICU guidelines, sarcopenia, and screening tools, followed by interactive Q&A.
The program concluded with participant feedback praising the practical insights and evidence-based strategies for improving nutrition care in critical care settings.
